Amazon is working on a new series based on “Stargate”
It will be handled by Martin Jero — writer and producer of previous shows based on the franchise.
- Film "Stargate" (1994) starring Kurt Russell and James Spader.
- Series "Stargate SG-1" with 10 seasons, which is a direct continuation of the film, but familiar characters are played by different actors. The series storyline concludes with two TV movies "The Ark of Truth" and "Continuum".
- Series "Stargate Atlantis" with five seasons. It begins after the finale of SG-1 season 7.
- Series "Stargate Universe". It was cancelled after two seasons, but the project was ambitious in terms of storyline for the series. It differs greatly in spirit and atmosphere from the previous two series, but that isn’t necessarily bad. The storyline was continued in comics.
- Series "Stargate: Origins" was released on YouTube. Very low-budget, and plot-wise it serves as a prequel to the 1994 film.
- Animated series "Stargate: Infinity" was cancelled after one season and has nothing to do with the established canon. The cartoon is generally not mentioned.
No approximate premiere date has been announced.
