Electric cars exceed 50% of sales in China for the first time: market reaches 51.1%

For the first time in automotive history, more than half of all cars sold in China were electric.

The share of vehicles with new energy sources reached 51.1%.

Today China is the largest electric‑car market on the planet.

Cool, of course, car enthusiasts will hate me, but as a pedestrian I want everyone to switch to electric cars — they’re cleaner, they’re quieter, they’re fast. When I first heard about Tesla, I thought, why doesn’t everyone switch — it turns out, there would be a desire.

Three years ago I read from a guy who moved to live in China how he bought an electric train. The service there is top‑notch, they gave a lifetime warranty, something broke on his way, he reported it in the app and literally within an hour a technician arrived and fixed everything. Plus there are subsidies for them in China. That's how this branch developed. And the climate also helps. Here we now have temperatures below -25 and snow up to the waist, I don't even know how to drive them in such weather

If there is technical support and the possibility of maintenance, and also a road as straight as a phallus (not hills) – an electric car or an electric scooter – is a delight.
But I already got burned by this in Turkey, when after a year it started falling apart literally before my eyes, one thing would break, then another. And the main thing is the manufacturer can't fix it.

I'm afraid that if such an expensive toy gets ovayvcoded within the city limits, the problems will be many times greater than on the highway.

What do we have to ride now? A bicycle?
