[моё] Question for people using PCs

People, does everyone's power supply output 12V with a tolerance of ±0.2V?
If it's lower, how much can a computer operate without issues?
And a request: if you haven't looked before, could you take a look and reply, please.

In short, as a rule it's fine; apparently below 11.5 and above 12.5 would already be problems, but otherwise the power supplies are set up like that.

DEg, I confirm. ±0.2 V on the 12V rail — generally a normal story, especially if you look at it in software (HWMonitor/AIDA/BIOS), the sensors/calibration can also lie. According to the ATX standard for 12V, ±5% is allowed, i.e., roughly 11.40–12.60 V. In practice:
    • 11.8–12.2 V under load — usually excellent
    • 11.6–11.7 V — can still be okay, but it already depends on PSU quality and load
    • below 11.5 V under load — already a reason to worry: possible reboots, crashes in games, artifacts, disk dropouts, etc.
Important: you need to check under load (game/stress test), not idle. And if you want to be “grown‑up”, the most honest measurement is with a multimeter on Molex/SATA, because software sometimes shows “weather on Mars” 😄

I know the theory in general )
just bought a power supply, it outputs 11.8V no load, which to me is crazy, under load 11.6-7, so I decided to find out, maybe someone has been running fine with that voltage for over 10 years

Well, I don’t remember how it was before, but it seems that one line also wandered a bit, also got jittery, seems the 3.3 V line – worked fine.

My power supply is about 12 years old, just checked it—under load it's 11.9, you know, damn, and the new one without load is already a beast

I'm surprised that it lasted 12 years, nothing ever lasted in my PC, I replaced it sooner or later. Here's the real story of how I bought a defective processor

just, in my opinion, before it never went below 12 at all, even though the power supply is cheap, but the quality is different
