    [моё] Twisting wires is evil

Twisting wires is evil and has long been prohibited. Here’s today’s example. There’s no access, so part of the wall has to be dismantled. The repair here was done 8 years ago.
I’ll take the wall apart and add a closer photo

The topic of wire twists hasn’t been covered. Why are they bad?
Asking as someone who understands nothing about electricity.

Well, at the very least, the thickness of the protective layer, its rigidity, unlike special connectors, and the question of what else the wires are made of.
It’s scary to move such a thing.

Twisted connections create high resistance at the contact points; over time, due to the load, the twist heats up and then cools down, which leads to even greater resistance, causing even more heating. The insulation starts to melt and drip, and the twist becomes exposed. And there you have a fire ready to happen, or at best a short circuit and burnout. There is now a simple solution, accessible to everyone, instead of twisted connections: crimping.

Here is exactly the place where the heating occurs, and there is no insulation. Plus, the wire has oxidized, which adds even more resistance

Agreed, total cringe, just using Wago connectors is a better option.
I saw an electrician on YouTube, like, “Here, we’re fixing the issues,” he found those twisted splices and... damn, he takes them and makes new twisted splices... no words

A properly made, soldered twist is eternal! But as an “electrician,” I can say that nowadays there are so many connector options that making a twist is somehow not very classy! Although I’ve seen all sorts of things, including copper with aluminum, and even 7 ends connected together... A nightmare, really. The best thing is to run the group with a separate cable!

P.S. Electrician! Know and remember! Don’t strip the end without need!!!)))
