The Only Person Buried on the Moon 🌕💔

He became the American geologist Eugene Shumeiker. He roamed space all his life and dreamed of visiting the Moon, but NASA's medical board rejected him. 

Eugene didn't give up, became a geologist and founded a new scientific discipline — astrogeology, making a bunch of important discoveries.

In 1997 the scientist tragically died in a car accident. To fulfill Eugene's last wish, his wife turned to NASA, and they helped deliver a capsule with his ashes to the Moon. He was interred in a crater that was eventually officially named after Shumeiker.

Thus he became the first and so far the only Earthling to find rest on the Moon.
