Meet Darwin's batfish!
On the sea floor near the Galápagos Islands lives Darwin's batfish — a fish that looks like Mother Nature's failed experiment. Its calling card — plump, as if painted with bright‑red lipstick lips, and
a perpetually dissatisfied expression of the “face”. But the main oddity of this “beauty”
lies elsewhere — it can practically not swim and only clumsily “walks” along
the bottom, using its modified pectoral and pelvic fins as stilts.
