Users of the mobile application “Gosuslugi” on Android reported in reviews that after installing the update they cannot log into the state service without confirmation by receiving a code from the Max messenger. A helpful method: open the “Gosuslugi” website on the smartphone in the PC version. The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation explained that the agency has decided to gradually discontinue login confirmation to the “Gosuslugi” portal via SMS due to the growing cases of fraud.

“To minimize the risk of SMS interception and theft of Gosuslugi account credentials, Gosuslugi are moving to a more secure authentication method. You can link your Gosuslugi account with the MAX app in just a few clicks. SMS login confirmation will remain available for those users, who do not have a smartphone and who cannot install the Max application,” the app’s support team said, —

In the comments, a representative of the Ministry of Digital Development explained that the ability to log into “Gosuslugi” via SMS will remain only for users with feature phones.
