Why cockroaches can live without a head
Experiments have shown that cockroaches are capable of surviving without a head for several weeks: their circulation is not controlled by the brain, and breathing occurs through special openings called spiracles, located throughout the body. After losing its head, the basic functions of the nervous system continue to be maintained by ganglia — nerve centers in the body segments that can autonomously coordinate movements and responses. Thanks to this, a cockroach remains alive for some time and can even move, but without its head it loses the ability to feed and drink, so it eventually dies of starvation and dehydration.
By the way, the head also lives for a while without the cockroach afterward😁
