Record demographic sprint: a 1993-born resident takes on the role of grandmother 

 

Life sometimes outpaces even the boldest TV show scenarios. While many peers of the 1993-born girl are just beginning to think about a first child or a career, she is already receiving congratulations on her status as a grandmother. The math of this family story is astonishing: the young grandmother herself gave birth to a daughter at 16 (in 2009), and she, in turn, repeated her mother’s path, giving her a grandson at the same 15–16 years of age. 

 

The situation is also unique because this family vertical is completely devoid of men — there is no father for the infant, nor a grandfather in the house. The entire burden of responsibility for raising the newborn and supporting the under‑age mother falls on the shoulders of a 33‑year‑old woman. On social media the news sparked heated discussions: some are amazed by the genetic rapidity, others sympathize with such early maturation of three generations at once. While the young mother has not yet finished school, the newly minted grandmother will have to combine her prime of life with diapers and parent meetings in two capacities at the same time.
