Bear on a Part-Time Job: a Zoo in China Is Looking for an Animator to Play a Forest Predator
The zoo in the city of Luohe (Henan Province) is looking for an employee for the position of... a part-time black bear. They promise to pay quite well for this noble work: 100,000 yuan — an annual salary for daily cardio fitness in a furry suit for 6 hours, plus "tips" — tourists are guaranteed to throw apples, cookies, and bananas at the "bear".
The requirements for the candidate are strict, but fair. You must
show up for work strictly in a stuffy, shaggy, and heavy bear costume, and you should not simply sit on a log and relax in the shade, but "imitate the behavior of the animal" — jump actively in place, run around the enclosure, and boldly interact with tourists. During the shift, speaking in a human voice is strictly forbidden. Communication with clients should be conducted only through epic paw waves and a guttural bear growl.
