Scientists analyzed data from randomized controlled
studies in various countries and concluded: the causal
relationship between poverty and mental disorders works in both
directions. Poverty causes depression and anxiety, and these states, in their
turn, entrench poverty, creating a vicious circle.

In the course of data processing, researchers concluded: when a person stops living in survival mode — they gain the ability to sleep, eat, rest and not count every penny until the end of the month —
their psyche receives a resource for recovery.

Constant stress due to lack of money, uncertainty and the inability
to plan the future, on the contrary, is a powerful factor in the development
of depression, the study says in the study.
