As entomologist James Bay noted in an NBC commentary, mosquitoes find it easiest to spot a person dressed in dark colors (blue, black) and red. This happens because they fly low over the ground, so they can easily notice those who stand out above the horizon line.

Researchers have also found that people with blood type O are the most attractive to mosquitoes – they get bitten almost twice as often as people with blood type A. Those with blood type B are second. And since you can't change your blood type, you'll have to wear something light-colored.
