You couldn't make it up!
For over 20 years in Tbilisi, on the balcony of a fourth‑floor ordinary residential building stood… “Zhiguli”.
Behind this hides a touching story.
In 1991, a resident of a residential district of Tbilisi, Rezo Enukidze, bought himself a brand‑new VAZ‑2106, which he had dreamed of his whole life. But he never got to drive the car. On the very first night, unknown perpetrators removed the mirrors and wheels from the car.
The car’s owner went so crazy that, using a lifting crane, he “parked” the car right on the balcony of his apartment.
"The car will stay here until better times," Enukidze told all the neighbors.
Apparently the car was so dear to the man that he never found a better time to bring the “Zhiguli” back to the ground.
He kept it reverently and cared for it on his balcony, regularly washing and cleaning it. However, he never fitted new wheels onto it.
In 2018 the blue VAZ‑2106 touched the ground, but unfortunately Rezo Enukidze never got to see it. And even less to fulfill his dream – to drive his car that he had kept and protected for so many years. He passed away shortly before that…
I’m talking about the fact that you shouldn’t postpone life until better times. We all do that from time to time, often without even realizing it. Only a few have the courage to live here and now. That’s an art. And everything else looks like a VAZ‑2106 parked on a balcony...
