How to make a lot of money
I'll write, if anything, in Belarusian rubles.
Recently I came across an advertisement that they are looking for flyer distributors for the summer. 500 flyers – 300 rubles. This is exactly a company that sticks up ads for various firms, so you can take several types at once and put up several ads on a building entrance. Our city isn’t very large – about 160 houses. About 50 of them are private, we don’t count those. The other 110 are multi‑apartment. Mostly we have buildings with 5‑10 entrances. Let’s take 7 as an average. Since the city is small, you can comfortably cover it in 4 hours, going into each courtyard. So in 4 hours I can cover 770 entrances and paste 770 flyers. That comes out to 462 rubles per day for one type of flyer. But! I can carry several types. 770 A5 sheets would weigh at most 2 kg, and that’s if they are thick. But fine, let’s assume the company ordering the advertising decided to spend a lot of money on good quality. 10 kg, and I can still carry that easily in a bag; my school backpack weighs more. So for a day that’s 770 flyers of 5 types. That’s 3 850 flyers and 2 310 rubles. Per day! Okay, let’s assume I take Saturday and Sunday off. So for June (in July I go to a camp, and in August to relatives) that’s 22 working days. 50 820 rubles! About 17‑something thousand dollars! Just so you understand – for my family (5 people) to fly to New York, visit more than 20 sights and stay two weeks in the cheapest hotel (visa, food, internet, etc. I calculated that too) would cost 10 100 rubles! The same with Turkey! Moreover you can get there by car through countries that don’t require a visa! In the end, getting to Antalya and staying there for two weeks would cost only about 2 000 rubles! To Paris by car for two weeks with visas, hotel, sights, food – 7 000 rubles! To China, in Hangzhou? With 5 000 you can quite comfortably vacation, with more than 30 attractions! To the Black Sea in Arkhipo‑Osipovka? Practically pennies! Also you can comfortably spend a few thousand there!
Well, I understand that it’s unlikely to be that simple and most probably it’s impossible. And in general, if everything worked like that, everyone would simply become a flyer distributor, but… The very fact that it could be possible is enough.
